SUMMARY OF WORK:

2003-Present:
At the present, I live in New York City pursuing a career as an artist, designer and sculptor.   My current passion is creating art from ordinary objects and transformed materials.

2002-Present:
I co-founded a grass root, international artist exchange, touring exhibition project known as VERN .   It is an expanding international artist collective that creates opportunity for grass roots artists to show outside their domain.   Currently, I am energizing the perpetuation of this evolving exhibition.   www.Vernpresents.net

1994-Present:
Melting Point Gallery San Francisco, CA
I am co-owner of Melting Point Studios, Gallery and Sculpture Garden, located in the historic Hamm's Brewery building in the mission district of San Francisco. I co-curate four to six gallery shows a year, focusing on local Bay Area visual artists.   Melting Point Studios includes managing fifteen individual artists' studios.

1990-Present:
I am the owner, metal sculptor and designer of Tripoli Designs . We design and build finely crafted furniture, fixtures and accessories. My focus is metal fabrication, wax sculpting and glass blowing.   The majority of work produced includes: beds, dressers, tables, lighting, gates and railing banisters.

I produce a line of jewelry called T. Salvatore.
The designs are created using the lost wax casting method.

ARTIST RESIDENCY:

2001:
San Francisco Recycle and Disposal Artist-in-Residence Program.
This is a three month, stipend program awarded to 4 artists a year. Each artist is provided with a fully equipped workshop, an open account to buy supplementing supplies, tools and free reign of materials scavenged within the 40 acre refuse sorting facility.   During the residency I gave several talks to the many groups that toured the facility.

PUBLIC ART COMMISSIONS:

April, 2005:
California Department of Transportation
commissioned me to create a sculpture made from roadside refuse that they collected cleaning the roads and highways of California. An affiliated educational program called: The Storm Water Project. I created a futuristic, planetary landscape made from hubcaps and a galvanized bucket. This piece will tour with the Caltrans Campaign, "Don't Trash California".

July, 2004:
22 nd Annual BWAC Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition
: I created an assemblage sculpture made from discarded toys collected off the streets of NYC.   The toys were disassembled into parts then the pieces were puzzled back together in the form of a 40 Foot long Rainbow Serpent.   It was a temporary exhibition.

September 2000:
San Francisco Yerba Buena Sculpture
Walk: I built a blown glass and steel armature pod installation. From a concrete mosaic base submerged beneath the pond, several glass orbs sprouted from metal stems at heights up to 15 feet high. It was a temporary exhibition.
