STATEMENT:

Assemblage :

This body of sculpture is comprised of ordinary objects or transformed materials that are assembled into unexpected juxtapositions.   The unaltered objects are fit together with the utmost precision, like a predetermined three-dimensional puzzle. While the objects of this puzzle are seemingly incongruous, it is the unlikely marriage between them that introduce new associations.

Montage:

Found objects are used "as is" and combined into simple composites. The materials become transformed as the referential information of the object's past life is obscured.   It is the relationship between the materials that causes a subtext of new meaning. Consummated by context, these disparate media harmonize, leaving the work open to individual interpretation.

Found Surface Drawings :

A subtle artistic touch is blended into the natural deterioration of a found surface.   The artistic enhancement is secondary and is only meant to accent the revealing organic qualities that identify the past life of the material. This work is meant to highlight the discreet beauty found among the physical remnants of constant change.
